Hi, thank you for taking the time to talk to us. Why don't you tell us a little about yourself as a composer?
I make "Game music that doesn't sound exactly like a typical game BGM". I like listening to club music and death metal, but my recent favorite is ambient music. If you are looking for music that is inspiring and sounds nothing like other game BGM, my music might be good fit for your needs.
So for your track, you selected Tokyo Poetry, from the pack of the same name. Why did you decide to select that track?
When I thought of which song should be selected for the "ayato sound create" brand, this song popped up as a first choice. This song has a simple piano sound but has a crazy rhythm effect. This is the title track of the pack, and I felt like it had to be this song.
It's an amazing track. How did it come about?
I wanted to express "something eerie in everyday life" in this song. This song's repeating piano phrase impressively creates an urban and disturbing atmosphere. When I recorded this song, the equipment I had back then was quite different from what I have now, and I remember that I had a lot of struggle with the production.
The entire pack is impressive, what is the story behind the pack itself?
I usually create a music pack that makes you feel stories, and each song in Tokyo Poetry tells a story as well. In Tokyo Poetry, my aim was to create a song which takes listeners to the extraordinary eerie world from a very ordinary and depressed daily life. You can find the name “Tejina" in the truck “tr_6”, and this name represents the girl who invites people from ordinary life to the extraordinary. This name is borrowed from Yasumi Kobayashi's novel "The Drunk Man".
