This week let’s focus on some gorgeous pixel icons and other resources made by Caz!
Caz’s Pixel Fantasy Resources thread is full of goodies to help us create games full of items that take our games to new levels! Users of MV may want some replacement icons for the simple default iconset to make their non-commercial games look even better, which is where Caz’s MV iconset replacement pack comes into play! Caz replaced every default icon with her own take on it, giving us colorful options for our menus.
Those aren’t the only icons to be found in her thread though! Are you working on a farm game and need some seed items? Caz’s farm tools pack contains a few important tools for farming like a rake and watering can, as well as over 20 different types of seeds! Let your players grow things like strawberries, corn, tomatoes, and lettuce from seed packs marked with those plants. This set also includes weather icons, perfect for giving your players a heads up on rainy days before they leave their homes.
Caz’s packs often have themes, including ones for holidays! If you’re making a romantic game for Valentine’s Day, wouldn’t it be great to have some icons that perfectly fit the theme? Heart-shaped boxes of chocolate, a bouquet of flowers, and even a ring in a velvet box can make your Valentine’s Day game even sweeter. Or use these icons to add a dating system to your game, winning over npcs with gifts from the heart.
Halloween also gets some love, with two packs full of tricks and treats! Reward players with gummy bears, candy corn, and lollipops when they win a spooky minigame, and give them cobwebs if they fail. This pack’s icons for brooms, cauldrons, skulls, and headstones could find a home in any game that has some scary scenes, meaning your game can have a bit of Halloween all year!
If your tutorials explaining which keys do what could use some graphics, then check out her keyboard buttons pack! Icons for every key (including versions where they’re pressed down) makes it easier than ever to show your players how to play your games. Or create a minigame where your players need to hit the keys that appear on their screens!
Icons aren’t the only thing Caz’s thread contains, if you have been wanting to replace MZ’s default tiles with some pixel art then you need to check out her Pixel Fantasy - RMMZ RTP Tiles! This tile pack is a work-in-progress to replace all of MZ’s default tilesets with Caz’s take on them. It currently contains the tiles for the Outside and Inside tilesets, meaning you can take your towns from default to divine! Turn your mining town into
And give your village houses simple rugs and smaller books and scrolls that can better fit in the sprites’ hands. The pack also includes a few taller sprites as well as a pixel windowskin so that your menus can match the rest of your game’s aesthetic.
And those are just a few of Caz’s pixel art resources! So if you’ve been looking for some new graphics to update your game’s icons and maps, look no further than Caz’s Pixel Fantasy Resources!
